‘Dancing with the Stars’ Recap: Season 20, Episode 7, Who was Eliminated?

This was unexpected: Despite high scores throughout the season, “Hunger Games” star Willow Shields and her partner, Mark Ballas, were eliminated on Monday night’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

This would seem to prove that some stars have young fan bases who often don’t vote, or maybe Mark’s choreography this season was too creative. But for sure, we now have our shock elimination that will make “DWTS” judges talk for years to come.

Showing her age, 14-year-old Willow cried and couldn’t speak. The judges looked shocked, and so did the pros. Mark thanked Willow for taking risks, especially at such a young age. Tom Bergeron said he wasn’t going to be a TV host for a moment and instead acted as a dad; he hugged the choked-up star. As the show ended, the other couples huddled around Willow to offer comfort.

Forced to sweat it out until the end with Willow and Mark were the equally unexpected Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy, although they did struggle last week with “Bootylicious” jazz.

'Furious 7' movie focuses on more than one type of race

(CNN) - It would be easy to laugh off Vin Diesel's prediction that his film "Furious 7" will win an Oscar next year, but not for the reason you might think.

After all, the actor was serious when he recently told Variety "It will probably win best picture at the Oscars, unless the Oscars don't want to be relevant ever."

But rather than ignore it because it's a glossy, blockbuster action film, some might argue that the movie goes against type for Academy Award nominated films because the cast is so diverse.

"Furious 7" hits theaters Friday, months after controversy was stirred about the lack of diversity at the Oscars. There were no actors of color nominated and no women in the directing category, which was dominated by white males. Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu went on to win best director for "Birdman."

The lack of diversity was so glaring (even with the mostly black cast of the movie "Selma," which received a nomination for best picture) that it spurred the Twitter hashtag "#OscarsSoWhite."

In contrast, "Furious 7" couldn't be more racially and ethnically inclusive. The cast includes Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson -- a Samoan/African-American -- black actors Christopher "Ludacris" Bridges and Tyrese Gibson, Hispanic performer Michelle Rodriguez, Thai martial artist Tony Jaa, Beninese expatriate Djimon Hounsou and the late Paul Walker, a blue-eyed, blond-haired California native.

Sarah Brightman to perform Lloyd Webber song in space - BBC

Sarah Brightman has been working with her former husband Andrew Lloyd Webber on a song she can perform in space.

The British soprano, who is training at Star City near Moscow, is due to blast off on a Russian Soyuz craft on 1 September.

The 54-year-old will spend 10 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS), 260 miles (420 km) above Earth.

Brightman said singing in space was a "very different" proposition to performing on Earth.

Speaking at a press conference in central London, the Phantom of the Opera star said her team were trying to work out the technical details of performing on the ISS.

Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear host, suspended by BBC after 'fracas' - BBC

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC after what it called a "fracas" with a producer.

Sources said he was accused of hitting the producer in an incident last week, and the remaining three episodes of the current series might not be broadcast.

The BBC confirmed one episode - due for broadcast on Sunday - would not be shown, but gave few further details.

Clarkson, 54, has not commented, but has been joking on social media about films that could replace Sunday's show.

He was given what he called his "final warning" last May after claims he used a racist word during filming.

At the time, he said the BBC had told him he would be sacked if he made "one more offensive remark, anywhere, at any time".

Harrison Ford injured in plane crash - BBC News

US actor Harrison Ford has been injured in a small plane crash in Los Angeles.

The 72-year-old, star of the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films, reported engine failure and crash-landed his vintage plane on a Venice golf course.

He was breathing and alert when medics arrived and took him to hospital in a "fair to moderate" condition, a fire department spokesman said.

His son Ben, a chef in Los Angeles, later tweeted from the hospital: "Dad is OK. Battered but OK!

His publicist said: "The injuries sustained are not life threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery,"

The nature of Ford's injuries have not been disclosed but website TMZ, which first reported the story, said he suffered "multiple gashes to his head".

Dakota Johnson IS skit causes furore - BBC News

A spoof advert for IS starring Fifty Shades of Grey actress Dakota Johnson has caused a furore on Twitter.

Johnson plays a girl saying goodbye to her father in the skit, which appeared on US TV show Saturday Night Live.

She appears to be leaving for college, but it transpires she is actually joining the Islamic terrorist group.

"It's just Isis, dad," she says. One Twitter user wrote: "I found NOTHING funny about that ISIS #SNL skit. Sorry but no laughing matter. Ever."

Later in the sketch, Taran Killam, who plays the father, tells the IS recruiter to "take good care" of his daughter, to which the IS member replies: "Death to America."

Harrison Ford returns to Blade Runner sequel - BBC News

Harrison Ford will reprise his role as police officer Rick Deckard in the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel, it has been confirmed.

Denis Villeneuve, who directed Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in kidnap drama Prisoners, is in talks to direct.

The story takes place several decades after the conclusion of the 1982 film, which was based on Philip K Dick novel Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?

The film is scheduled to start shooting in the summer of 2016.

The cult 1982 film, directed by Sir Ridley Scott, saw Deckard hunting down genetically engineered lifelike robots, known as replicants, in a futuristic Los Angeles, set in 2019.

Robin Williams' daughter reflects on her father's death - BBC News

Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, has spoken out for the first time since her father's death last August.

The actor and comedian took his own life at his Californian home at the age of 63.

Ms Williams told NBC's Today Show there was "no point" in asking why her father killed himself.

"We don't have an explanation," she told reporter Kate Snow. "There's no point questioning it... blaming yourself or the world. It happened."

The 25-year-old said it was "going to take a lot of work to allow myself to have the sort of fun, happy life that I had, but that's important".

"Anybody who has ever lost anyone works very hard to continue that memory in a positive way."

Williams, who was famous for films such as Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society and Mrs Doubtfire, was understood to have been battling depression at the time of his death.

Leonard Nimoy, Star Trek's Mr Spock, dies at 83 - BBC News

US actor Leonard Nimoy, who played Mr Spock in the cult sci-fi series Star Trek, has died at the age of 83 in Los Angeles, his family has said.

His son, Adam, said he died of end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease on Friday morning.

Nimoy had a long career as both an actor and director.

However he was best known for his portrayal of the half-human, half-Vulcan character in both the TV franchise and series of films.

Last year, the actor revealed he was suffering chronic lung disease COPD, despite stopping smoking 30 years ago.

It was reported earlier this week he had been taken to hospital on 19 February after suffering from chest pains.

He later tweeted: "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory."

Lindsay Lohan told to do more community service - BBC News

A Los Angeles judge has told Lindsay Lohan to do 125 more hours of community service after decreeing that activities she performed while appearing in a West End play last year did not count.

Superior Court Judge Mark Young annulled credits that Lohan received for time she spent in London in 2014.

The 28-year-old was originally ordered to complete 240 hours of community service as part of a 2013 plea deal.

It stemmed from a 2012 case involving reckless driving and lying to police.

The actress, who made her West End debut last year in a production of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, was not present for Wednesday's hearing.

The Mean Girls star worked with charity group Community Service Volunteers (CSV) during her time in London and reportedly lobbied US insurance giant Esurance to donate $10,000 (£6,440) to the organisation.

Brit Awards 2015: Madonna falls off stage - BBC News

Pop star Madonna fell off the stage during her performance at the 2015 Brit Awards, on a night that saw Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran each win two prizes.

Madonna tumbled down a set of stairs and landed awkwardly, apparently after a dancer tried to remove a cape she was wearing at the start of her routine.

But she recovered and returned to continue her song, Living For Love.

The 56-year-old issued a statement later saying she was "fine" and that her cape had been "tied too tight".

"Nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up," she wrote on Instagram, referencing the lyrics to her song. "Thanks for your good wishes!"

The painful incident came at the end of a ceremony where Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith shared the honours, winning two awards each.

An average of 5.3 million people tuned in to the ceremony on ITV, according to overnight ratings - rising to 5.8 million when ITV+1 viewers are added in.

That is up from the 4.6 million who tuned in last year - but less than 2013's overnight audience of 6.5 million.

David Hockney releases artwork of Woldgate fly-tipping - BBC News

David Hockney has released artwork of a landscape that inspired him, after it had been blighted by fly-tipping.

The artist issued the work, of Woldgate in East Yorkshire, after a visitor to his latest exhibition decided to visit the scene.

Dismayed by what he had seen, visitor Bob Ward took his story to BBC Look North.

When Hockney was contacted for his views, he sent the artwork, depicting the littered site in 2011.

Bradford-born Hockney, who created the art using a tablet computer, described the fly-tipping as "very sad".

He said: "Sadly, hardly anybody ever watches the arrival of spring on Woldgate.

"It is a rarely travelled road and I think for that reason, and that it's free, people leave trash on it. It's all very sad.

"The very best light on Woldgate is about 6am in the summer, with long shadows from the morning sun and again nobody sees it.
